The W25 Oldsmobile Outside Air Induction hoods are the same construction/design as the original GM hoods. Our fiberglass top skin is SMC (sheet molding compound) fiberglass. The SMC material is cut into patterns and laid into the mold that is attached to a 1,500 ton press. It also has veins in the steel to heat molds to 300 degrees.
The SMC stamping is extremely durable and cured in a way that will never warp or accept any waves. These molds allow us to offer the best hoods ever produced.
Our hoods have a full stamped steel frame with a "factory style" wire mesh screen attached. The steel is stamped, and then CNC machined out for exact factory tolerances.

Hoods weigh 150 pounds when shipped. Dimensions of packaging are 75"x60"x10". Freight charges include a crating fee.
Inspect your hood immediately upon receiving.
Hoods are shipped LTL Freight; it is very important that you inspect your hood before signing off on the Bill of Lading. You need to open the box, even if there appears to be no damage from the outside. Again, unwrap and inspect your hood before you sign off on the Bill of Lading.
If there is damage and you accept delivery, you must write "FREIGHT RECEIVED DAMAGED" on the Bill of Lading. If there is damage, you have the right to refuse the shipment and allow the driver to take it back.
If there is damage to any packaging, but no damage found on the hood, you must write "PACKAGING DAMAGED" along with a brief description of the damage.
*Please take photos of any damage, and inform us, Thornton Muscle Cars, within 24 hours of receiving the damaged hood in order for a claim to be filed and valid.*
**Failing to do any of the above (inspecting and/or writing that freight was received damaged, etc.), you are acknowledging the difficulty that follows in filing a claim on your behalf, and are absolving the freight carrier of any and all responsibility to the damage done, by your own accord.**
If you are returning your hood, you MUST call us at 610-282-2494 prior to returning. Due to our hoods being a special order item, any returns must be pre-approved before shipping back to us. Returned hoods are subject to 20% restocking fee, and we are not responsible for shipping. If a credit is due, a refund will be issued in the form of a check after the hood has been returned and inspected.
